Tom Wells

Manager, Americas Partner Organization

Cisco Capital

Tom Wells joined Cisco in 1995 and currently leads Cisco Capital’s Partner Organization across the Americas. In this role, his team is responsible for helping Cisco partners identify market transitions and develop robust financial practices that help them meet market needs.

Tom has invested more than 30 years developing channel strategies and partners in the high-tech industry. He started his career with Tandy Corporation (Radio Shack) in 1985 as a Field Marketing Representative and shortly thereafter assisted in launching the mid-west division of Nimax, a California based computer reseller and distributor which is now a division of Ingram Micro.

While Sales Manager for Nimax, Tom was recruited to Tech Data in 1989 where he managed a multi-state region and grew it from a perennially underperformer to the largest revenue producing region in the company.

In 1995, Tom joined Cisco as an early member of their channel team and has spent the last 23 years with Cisco in multiple leadership roles. Among his accomplishments and awards, Tom was named the 2009 MCO of the year for Cisco in the United States.

Tom graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Business Management and served as Treasurer for the Board of Directors for the EMU Alumni Association. He is also an advisor to the College of Business at EMU and serves on the Technical Advisory Board for Henry Ford Community College.
